What's the program all about? 
We are thrilled to announce the return of the Inglewood PTSA Spelling Bee enrichment program for the 2025-2026 academic year! Once again, our school has enrolled in the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee, offering students an exciting opportunity to enhance their spelling skills, expand their vocabulary and foster a love for language.
 

Who can participate?

All Inglewood students in grades 6-8 are invited to participate in this enriching experience.

When can we register?

The school Spelling Bee opens for registration Dec 10, 2025 and closes on January 15, 2026 (no exceptions to closing deadline). 

What can we expect? 

The Spelling Bee will be conducted as an in-person oral competition only this year (no preliminary written round). All registered students will participate in the oral round. There will be a parent orientation after registration opens (details to be announced at a later date).

• Enter registration details and follow the instructions to register.

Important Dates:

• Registration Opens: 12/10/2025
• Registration Deadline: 01/15/2026 (no late entries)
• Oral Round (In Person): Wednesday, 01/28/2026 at 2:30 p.m in the IMS Library

Volunteers Needed

Like any other successful enrichment program, we rely on dedicated volunteers. Your support will ensure the smooth execution of the program. More details to come later once registration closes. 

How does my child prepare for success?

To help your child prepare, we will provide word lists and recommended reading materials. Parents are encouraged to support their children by using resources such as the Merriam-Webster dictionary and online tools. Additionally, forming spelling groups among parents can create a supportive environment for students to learn and grow.
